Who We Are
Hey y’all! I’m Giancarlo, one of the founders of Top Pop, a frozen pop company inspired by wholesome flavors, as well as some exotic flavors, and crafted with heart. While I don’t come from a traditional culinary background, I’ve been making pops for years now and refined my craft along the way. Drawing ideas from my travels and gaining insight from working in a few restaurants I’ve worked in.
At Top Pop, we create treats that strike a balance between wholesome and a little naughty. Our pops are made with ingredients you can recognize, because we believe real flavor doesn’t need to be complicated.
Whether it’s a refreshing fruit-forward pop or a rich, indulgent creation, our goal is to surprise and delight taste buds—one pop at a time.
Hi, I’m Barbie! – Founder & Flavor Enthusiast
I began in hospitality back in 2009, as a server’s assistant at 19 years old at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Metairie. From day one, I was hooked—there’s just something about the energy, the people, & of course, the food! I advanced and eventually hostessed, ran food, became a Server and Bartender. In 2012, I took the leap into the culinary world, working in some incredible New Orleans kitchens like GW Fins, Restaurant August, and Johnny Sánchez. In 2015 I had the amazing opportunity to go to Denver, Colorado for culinary training on a scholarship! Shortly after returning, became the Pastry Chef at GW Fins, sweet! In 2019 I returned to Ruth’s, back to the front of the house – serving, bartending, banquets- you name it, I did it! I eventually landed the Events, Operations & Sales Manager role and had a blast facilitating events and making memorable events for our beloved guests!
My love for all things culinary runs deep, and I’ve always been passionate about creating joy through flavor. In 2019, something REALLY special happened… I stumbled upon the world of frozen pops—and I haven’t looked back since. What started as a fun idea quickly manifested into a true passion.
Now, we’re on a mission to bring you exciting, bold, and delicious frozen pops that delight your palate and brighten your day. I can’t wait for you to taste what we’ve been dreaming up!
